PLANNING FOR "NON-TRADITIONAL" FAMILIES IN A CHANGING WORLD

Date: Wednesday, February 8, 2012
Time: 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Location: Hilton Garden Inn, Palm Coast Town Center
Speaker: Vernon Swartsel, Esq., of Carlton Fields, P.A., Orlando, FL

Same-sex partners, and indeed all unmarried couples, with or without children, face particular challenges in their life and estate planning, and very little in Florida law accommodates them. If we are engaged as their advisers, how can we be sensitive to the challenges they face, and what can we do to encourage careful planning?

Our speaker, Vernon Swartsel, Esq., compiled the estate planning section of this publication and will share his insights with us.

"The Legal Handbook for LGBT Floridians and Their Families"

"This handbook is available online for free in the link from the sponsoring organization "Equality Florida". The handbook information begins on page two of the link. The Estate Planning Council of the Fun Coast has taken no position of support for Equality Florida, other than to make this handbook, and our program discussing it, available to help our members better serve our clients."
