Bio:
Melissa Lader Barnhardt joined Wells Fargo Private Bank in 2010 as a Senior Vice President and Senior Trust & Fiduciary Specialist for the Ft.Lauderdale/Miami region of Wells Fargo Private Bank.  As part of trust services, Melissa works as a special needs specialist with clients to help implement and administer trusts and estate plans to help fulfill clients’ wealth and special needs goals and has worked in the special needs and guardianship arena for over twenty (20) years.

Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Melissa was First Vice President & Trust Consultant at SunTrust Bank in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida for eight (8) years, where she specialized in the areas of estate planning, guardianship and special needs trust administration.  Melissa has guest lectured extensively for various bar associations, and other organizations on benefits, special needs trusts and on prevention of abuse, neglect and exploitation of vulnerable adults.  Melissa also taught as an adjunct professor at University of Miami Law School where she taught an Elder Law Pilot Clinic in the spring of 2008 and “Aging and Special Needs Law” in the spring of 2012.  Melissa also authored an article that was published in the FIRMA Forum.

Melissa earned her B.A., Magna Cum Laude, from University of South Florida in 1988, J.D., and Cum Laude, from the John Marshall Law School in 1991, Chicago, Illinois and her L.L.M. in Health Law from DePaul University College of Law in 1994.  Currently Melissa is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Greater Ft. Lauderdale, member of  the Advisory Council to the Association for Retarded Citizens (‘ARC”),  co-chair for the Ventilator Assisted Children Camp (affiliated with Miami Children’s Hospital) Brunch Fundraiser, co-chair of the Guardianship Committee for the Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar, member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar, and a board member of Florida’s Children First.  Melissa resides in Dania Beach, Florida with her husband and daughter.<span style="font-size:10.0pt;line-height:110%;Georgia" ,"serif""="">
